YORK
a three storey contemporary house on the edge of the central conservation area & the historic core of YORK this property is a 'marmite' house, love it or hate it
our developer client had outline planning for the project & NMD were brought in to realise the scheme & steer it through detail planning approvals to a build
the project was for a radical contemporary design, large open plan spaces all within sustainable timber frame structure with deep fill insulation & triple glazed Scandinavian windows/doors
the facades were clad in an Italian aluminised cellulose rain screen panel and stained larch plank
the placing of the panels was carefully co-ordinated to give a random textural pattern to how the light strikes the 'grain' on the metal - to avoid a flat featureless industrial facade
the build sat over deep basement tank creating a separate apartment
